1. No User Accounts or Tracking
Shrink does not require accounts, logins, emails, or personal identification. We do not use third-party analytics trackers, cookies, or marketing scripts.
2. Automatic Immediate Deletion of Original Files
When you upload a video for compression, it is held strictly for the duration of the encoding process. The original file is permanently deleted from the server the exact instant video compression finishes.
3. Automatic 30-Minute Wiping of Results
The resulting compressed video is retained on disk solely to allow you to download it. An automated cleanup task runs on the server every 60 seconds, permanently destroying any file whose job completed more than 30 minutes prior. You can also trigger immediate deletion at any time by clicking "Compress another" in the interface.
4. Server Logs
Standard temporary HTTP access logs (containing client IP addresses for rate-limiting purposes) are retained temporarily in memory to prevent abuse and denial-of-service attacks, and are never shared or sold.
